In this episode of Her Strange Hour, we’re talking about the eerie and still-unsolved disappearance of Dorothy Forstein.
Dorothy Forstein was a 40-year-old wife and mother living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. On October 18, 1949, she vanished from her home under deeply disturbing circumstances. According to reports, her young daughter said she saw an unknown man carrying Dorothy’s unconscious body out of the house. Dorothy was never seen again.
What makes this case even stranger is that Dorothy had reportedly survived a brutal attack years before her disappearance, and no clear motive has ever been confirmed. There were no easy answers, no clean ending, and no resolution for her family.
In this episode, I walk through Dorothy’s life, the earlier attack, the night she disappeared, and the questions that still surround the case decades later.
